"A woman is on the phone to her lover. He doesn’t want to be with her anymore. She is approaching breaking point. She thinks she’s alone but she’s not. We, the audience, are in her apartment. We witness her life unravelling.

Taking place in an apartment in Penarth, WNO’s Artistic Director David Pountney has taken a 20th century opera classic and created a unique and visceral theatre experience especially for Festival of Voice. This is opera up-close, intimate and unrestrained.

Sung live with recorded piano accompaniment, this exclusive Festival of Voice production is a new experience not to be missed."
